Message from the Chief
Welcome to the Borough of Sewickley Police Department. Our department was established in the mid- 1800’s. The Sewickley Police Department, as well as the Sewickley Community, enjoys a rich and significant history. Please enjoy learning more about one of the best small towns in Pittsburgh.
Our department has 11 full-time officers and 22 part-time officers. On behalf of all of our officers, we encourage your inquiries, suggestions and support. We promote communication between the community and our department.
The primary goal of the Sewickley Police Department is to serve and protect our neighbors in and around Sewickley. We strive to stay educated to keep up with the ever changing technology and to always stay current with the needs of our community.
Sewickley is a wonderful place to live, work play and visit. We will continue to help keep Sewickley safe and welcoming.
My job as the Chief of Police is to work with the Mayor, Borough Council, Borough Manger and all Public Safety resources. These include Cochran Hose Company (fire department), Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority and Protective Inspection with Building Code officials. This ensures that staffing and financial resources are properly budgeted each year to meet the needs of our citizens and visitors. Information regarding the budget can also be found on this website.
We appreciate you taking the time to learn about our department. We hope the information provided on this website is helpful. Please feel free to engage any of our officers with questions, concerns or new ideas. We have an open door policy and welcome your input.
Rich Manko, Chief of Police
